As Head of Facilities, it will be your responsibility to deliver effective management and delivery across our large and complex soft facilities service. Reporting to the Director of Estates and Facilities, you will also contribute to the strategic development of the service and be a pivotal member of the Directorate leadership team.

Your role in our future

This role combines the leadership and management of a highly responsive facilities services with the need for a strategic leader and advocate. It provides the potential to make a significant impact on our Trust’s growth and sustainability, while making the best use of our estate to support modern patient care.

You will provide professional advice and support on facilities services to the Trust Executive, other Senior Managers, Clinical colleagues, and external stakeholders, so you will need to be able to communicate effectively at all levels.

The interpretation and application of policies, legislative changes, guidance and best practice and proactive resource management will all be part of your remit. We will also be relying on you to be a confident negotiator, ensuring that all service providers resolve any performance management issues and maintain contract performance levels that ultimately enable the Trust to provide the highest levels of care.

Your profile

  • A Facilities professional, with significant experience of managing high value, profit conscious commercial operations.
  • You will need a Master’s qualification or have evidence of specialist and management knowledge to that level, including considerable experience of working within the Facilities or service delivery management profession at a senior level.
  • You will have an in-depth knowledge of Facilities management with experience and knowledge of managing both directly employed and outsourced services and have a clear understanding of how services and service delivery impacts on the delivery of high-quality care.
  • You will need to be confident in your ability to make decisions and to influence and balance conflicting issues through your leadership expertise.
  • You will be comfortable working with a high level of autonomy, undertaking holistic thinking and leadership and be able to actively exercise judgement and tactful communication skills.
