Head of Environment Transformation

Closing date:  22 May 2024 - 11:59 pm

Salary:  £74,688 - £103,830 per annum

Client:  Westminster City Council

As our Head of Environment Transformation, you can make your own powerful contribution to delivering a Fairer Environment for Westminster, as well as delivering projects, action and initiatives that will contribute to the wider global environmental agenda. Responding to some of the greatest environmental challenges of our time, you will build the partnerships and lead the influencing and engagement needed to support delivery of the Council’s response to the ecological and climate emergencies, and help drive our efforts to tackle air pollution and waste. You will deliver our commitment to address issues of climate justice and take action to protect wildlife and improve biodiversity. You will balance this against our statutory obligations and objectives as a local authority. It’s a complex challenge but there is significant political drive behind this new appointment and you’ll have the opportunity to make a personal impact on the way Westminster builds a more sustainable and resilient future.

This is a strategic partnership role, working with organisational leaders to embed and articulate the Council’s environmental aims and objectives. Your focus will be on fostering excellent working relationships with other council colleagues, partner organisations, diverse stakeholders and local communities. You’ll be supported by your own team and by other members of the Environment and Communities Directorate, who are dedicated to supporting this agenda, and delivering the Council’s commitment to be a net zero Council by 2030 and a net zero City by 2040.
