The future of Adult Social Care based on managing demand and delivering responsive and personalised care is dependent on high-quality technology that enables us and individuals to manage their needs. Assistive technology is recognised as a key tool and it can, with work and commitment, make a significant improvement to the lives of residents. The national “digital switchover”, to move all analogue telephone lines to digital by 2025 has already begun. This move makes the current (analogue) telecare service on offer obsolete. This is an opportunity to radicalise the technology available to residents, create an offer for all, and ensure the service is enabled to work across the whole system, now and in the future. To support this system wide transformation a Programme Lead is required, their focus will be the development of the specification, procurement, and subsequent implementation.
