Interim Disrepair Surveyor

In the role of Disrepair Surveyor your duties, of which experience is essential, will include but not limited to:

  • Responsible for carrying out surveys as part of a dis-repair claims being made by tenants.
  • Preparing and reviewing discloser documents.
  • Carry out property inspections and provide advice to social housing landlord on whether claims were genuine.
  • Good time management, working within protocol time frames, meeting all deadlines.
  • Good communication skills, collaboratively working with internal departments such as legal.
  • Preparing expert witness reports in the Scott schedule format.
  • Attend joint inspections with the tenants solicitor’s surveyor.
  • Putting together a specification for any works required as part of the new Fit for human habitation act 2018.
  • Carry out a post inspection and sign off works, keeping a photographic record.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must be RICS or associate RICS in Building Surveying.
  • Experience of working with housing providers.
  • Experienced expert witness, willing to attend court to defend claims.

Hybrid role.
